On Saturday, our school, Jung SuWon Martial Art Academy, participated in a fair at Weibel School in Fremont, California. It was a super hot day, with temperatures near 90 degrees, but it was an excellent turnout of families, students and Jung SuWon Warriors.
It is always wonderful to see parents come out to support their children and participate in fun things that kids like to do.
Here is one action shot of one of our Black Belt Masters doing a demonstration – if you look closely, you can see two pieces of the board flying in the air after he broke it, one is right above the holder’s head.
Many of our students, or their siblings, attend Weibel School, so we highlighted them in many of the routines we did.
Here is a cool picture of two students doing a sparring routine – they both jumped and kicked in the air at the same time! Great form!
Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim teaches us that it isn’t the condition that matters, it is our attitude that matters. We were in the hot, bright sun, we were nervous, lots of people were around. But we didn’t let those conditions affect who we are or what we did. All our younger students did an excellent job, and if they didn’t break the board on the first try, they tried again until they succeeded.
